History of Grama Panchayat
Thrippangottur Grama Panchayat has a rich historical, social, and cultural heritage rooted in the traditional agrarian society of North Kerala. In the early years, the entire region was under the control of feudal landlords (Janmis), where tenant farmers had limited rights and endured economic exploitation. Land reforms and the gradual transfer of land ownership after Independence brought significant social and economic changes, although land-related issues continued to affect many farmers. The Panchayat played an active role in India's freedom movement.
